Testimonials & Comments from Residents and their Families:

"I can only report as I find things as a visitor, not as a resident. A serious fall outside resulted in a 999 call by the District Nurse that got me into the hospital. She also found a vacancy at the Bearwardcote Hall Nursing Home. After I was discharged from the hospital, I eventually visited my wife at the nursing home. I have always been greeted by a friendly member of staff and can only report as a visitor. I have never been able to find any fault with a member of staff or the general cleanliness of the premises. To say it is excellent is really an understatement. The establishment and the staff is absolutely superb. I have no cause at all to find fault with Bearwardcote Hall. Superb is not really a good enough word but it will have to do. Should the need arise I might even move in myself. Thank you one and all."

"Much appreciated and thanks for all the great care that all the staff gave to mum over the last few years. She was very happy at Bearwardcote, especially during the very difficult time with Covid, so we are all very appreciative."

"All the residents I have spoken to say how lovely the food is. I always see the kitchen staff cooking fresh food every day and it is all homemade. The kitchen is spotless, with strict guidelines about entering and handwashing. The laundry is very fresh. There is an excellent laundry room. All towels, sheets, residents’ clothes, etc, are always freshly laundered. The residents speak highly of the home and of the staff. The home also has regular groups for the residents to attend if they wish to. I would highly recommend this home and the staff."

"To our friends who are the staff at Bearwardcote Hall.

A massive thank you with our sincere appreciation for the constant love and care you gave our mum Lena for nearly 10 years in the twilight of her life.
Lena spent her time with you feeling loved, respected, in a happy atmosphere, always secure, contented, with a constant routine.

The great understanding of dementia care given meant Lena’s every need was anticipated, even when she was non-verbal and couldn’t communicate herself. You always met her individual needs.

Lena loved all the laughs, singing, hugs, friendship. Friendship is important at every stage in life, but more so when you are totally reliant on others who you can implicitly trust.

Bearwardcote Hall was Mum’s home and ours too!

"I write to thank you all for the kindness and care you extended to my dear sister Sue during her time at Bearwardcote. She was really very happy there and regarded it as home.

I am particularly grateful that Sue was given the best care during her final days with you. It was so much more peaceful to be looked after at Bearwardcote than in the hospital, and the whole family wish to thank you for making her final days restful and secure.

Thank you again for the professional and sensitive approach you adopted for Sue during her stay with you.

"I loved the cosy and homely atmosphere that has so successfully been created. Your staff, as far as I could see and confirmed by you are dedicated and in many cases with long service records. It was a pleasure to meet your son, and Vicki, who kindly showed us round, was charming and a brilliant ambassador for your company."

"On the 9th August 2022, my wife was admitted to a nursing home. It is a fair distance from our home in Stenson Fields but I visit twice a week by taxi, costing almost £80.00 per week, but worth every penny. The place is called Bearwardcote Hall, Heage Lane, Etwall. I do not have much experience of these establishments but this is one of the best in the area. The staff are brilliant to their patients and nothing is too much trouble. The place is very clean and well looked after, I cannot find fault with the place. My wife Mavis is very well looked after!"

Thank you so much for all you have done for her.

"THANK YOU SO MUCH

We will never forget the wonderful care you gave Dad during his time with you and the support for us all as a family.
It still feels very strange not coming to Bearwardcote and seeing you all! We hope you can use the money for something nice and just wanted to repay your kindness in some way.

With love and thanks from Karen, Gaynor, Rachel, Michael and families xxx

Thank you again for the outstanding care given to mum, particularly over the last few years, in difficult circumstances.

"We wanted to say a heart felt thanks to you all for taking such good care of Dad [Terry] so well over the last 4 years.
It’s never an easy decision to make finding the right care home for a loved one, but we couldn’t of felt more at ease that Dad was being well looked after. We know at times it has not been easy with him, mainly the first year, but you managed Dad well and it’s testament to your hard work, dedication and care that he survived so long.

"With sincere thanks to all the amazing Bearwardcote Hall staff who have loved, cared for and dedicatedly supported Lena 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for the past nine and a half years. Today, Mum is celebrating her 90th birthday, due to the care of you all. To Lena, you are her best friends, confidant and close family. To us, you are angels we are lucky to have. With huge respect and love."

John, Sandie, Matt & Sammy

"Thank you for getting me back on my feet. Everyone was so kind and cheerful despite all the problems you are faced with.
I am managing well at home but need to build my confidence to get out and about again. If I ever I find myself needing care again I know where to come. Best wishes.
