Parachute Game – 02/10/24

Our new resident Maureen’s four-year-old great grandaughter came into visit and joined in with our residents with the parachute game, which was enjoyed by all.  When the little girl left she thanked the staff for letting her come to play.  Her manners were lovely and she is welcome to visit our residents again any time!

Musical Afternoon Wednesday 11th September 2024

Musical therapist Rebecca Johnstone was supposed to have visited today.  Due to transport issues, however, Rebecca has rescheduled her visit for Wednesday 2nd October.  Not wanting to go entirely without music, our wonderfully versatile staff decided to treat our residents to a musical afternoon .

Patrick a Great Grandad!

Patrick Hayes became a great grandfather recently.  Remi Rose entered the world on Thursday 29th August 2024, just one day after her great grandfather’s own birthday! Patrick’s daughter-in-law, Stephanie, very kindly sent us a picture of Patrick holding the newborn — and he does look very proud!  Many thanks to Stephanie and Patrick for allowing ... Patrick a Great Grandad!

When Richard Comfort Came to Sing …

Richard Comfort returned to sing for us yesterday.  Everybody loved it! — as you can see from the pictures — and we are going to book Richard again very soon.  We hope to get him to visit us at Christmas.  Watch this space for details.

Elvis and His Dancers to Return in October

We are very lucky to have once again been able to book Elvis and his dancers this autumn!  Elvis and co. have left the room many times now; but we have so far always been able to coax them back.  Maybe because it is always such amazing fun for them and us ... All the Best, Margaret!

Margaret Simpson has been a carer at Bearwardcote Hall for an amazing 37 years!  She has finally decided to retire, and today we gave her a send off with a massive cake and flowers.  We are really going to miss Margaret around the place, and we all wish her the very best for the future!

Musical Attractions for July/August 2024

Coming musical attractions this summer start with Rebecca Fawn Johnstone, a Music Therapist, workshop facilitator and all-round musician.  Rebecca says of herself that she is ‘a compassionate and skilled Music Therapist, with a passion for facilitating workshops that create a space where all persons can experiment with expressing themselves through music, art, talking, or poetry’.  ...
